Motel argument leads to shooting on Memphis interstate, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An argument at a Memphis motel led to gunfire on a major interstate Thursday morning, police said.

According to Memphis Police, the altercation started at a Motel 6 on Brooks Road.

Police said the victim left the hotel, but the shooter drove after them and followed them onto I-55 near Brooks Road.

That’s when the shooter opened fire, the victim told police.

Police said the victim was not hit by any bullets, but the investigation did shut down part of the interstate around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday.

MPD said nobody has been arrested for this interstate shooting yet, but that the victim did know the person who pulled the trigger.
