MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is behind bars after she crashed into a Memphis Police Officer, injuring the officer, while having two toddlers in the car.
Cadarius Davis, 32, was arrested and charged with child neglect, failure to exercise due care, driving under the influence, violation of financial law, public intoxication, reckless driving, and vehicular assault after she crashed her car into a police officer on McLean Blvd, according to police.
Just after midnight Sunday, an MPD officer was in his car with blue lights to block the southbound lanes of McLean near Overton Park so MLGW could work on power lines that were knocked over due to the storms when the incident occurred.
Davis then crashed into the officer’s car and was found to be under the influence. She also had two children, ages 2 and 3, in the car, police said.
The officer was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Davis was not injured.
The children were taken to Le Bonheur and sustained no injuries.
She has not had too many run-ins with the law. She’s been arrested for driving with her license suspended twice, and failure to appear in court once.
Davis’ posted bond, which was $10,000.
She is due back in court Jan. 27.
