Elderly woman brutally beaten during home invasion burglary, police say

FORREST CITY, Ark. — Two people were put in jail, and an elderly woman was left in the hospital after a home invasion in Forrest City, Arkansas, according to police.

Forrest City Police said that an elderly woman showed up at the police department around 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning with head injuries.

She told police that she had just been robbed and beaten with handguns inside her home on Mississippi St.

That woman gave police a description of the people responsible. She was then taken to Forrest City Medical Center before being transported to another hospital due to a bleed on her brain caused by blunt force trauma, according to police.

Police said they began to look for suspects from past incidents in the area and received search warrants for two homes and a car. When they carried those search warrants out, police said they found the elderly woman’s property, including her ID and clothing used during the burglary.

Less than 12 hours after the elderly woman showed up at the police station, Forrest City Police had arrested two of the four people they believe are responsible for the crime.

Markie Childers Jr. is charged with being an accomplice to aggravated residential burglary, engaging in violent criminal group activity, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Felipe Bradley is charged with being an accomplice to aggravated residential burglary, being an accomplice to theft by force, engaging in violent criminal group activity, and theft by receiving and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police said they are still searching for the other two suspects.
