MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police released tragic details about the death of a 27-year-old mother and the presumed death of her 2-day-old baby girl.
According to Memphis Police, 25-year-old Brandon Isabelle killed the mother, Danielle Hoyle. MPD believes he also killed the newborn they had together, 2-day-old Kennedy Hoyle.
Police said that they found Danielle’s car around 11 p.m. Tuesday night in the area of Sedgwick St. and Levi Rd. in Whitehaven. According to police, the driver’s side window of the car was broken out.
MPD traced the car back to Danielle and contacted her family who told police that they had not heard from Danielle since she left with her 2-day-old baby earlier that day, according to a police affidavit.
While police talked with Danielle’s family, an officer back at the scene discovered a woman on the side of the road, dead with a gunshot wound to the head, MPD said.
Police soon identified Isabelle, the father of 2-day-old Kennedy Hoyle, as a suspect and brought him in for questioning, Memphis Police reported.
While being questioned, Memphis Police said that Isabelle confessed to luring Danielle to the area and shooting her. According to the police affidavit, Isabelle then admitted to taking 2-day-old Kennedy Hoyle, driving to Island Park and the Upper Mud Island Boat Ramp and tossing the child into the water.
According to police, Isabelle tossed the gun used to shoot Danielle into the Mississippi River and Wolf River Delta.
