Family says teacher at Collierville school taped child’s mouth shut

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. — A Collierville family is very concerned after they say a teacher taped their child’s mouth shut at school.

The incident happened last week at West Collierville Middle School.

Several parents and teachers told FOX13′s Jeremy Pierre that the incident disturbed other students so much, they reported it to the principal.

One parent said the teacher put tape over the student’s mouth and wrote an ‘X’ on the tape.

The incident was reportedly an attempt to discipline the child after he was disruptive in class.

FOX13 has reached out to the Collierville School District about this incident, and we have yet to hear back.
