Fire reported at popular Beale Street restaurant, MFD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Fire Department battled a fire at a popular Beale Street Restaurant Saturday afternoon.

According to officials, the call came in about 11:16 a.m. Saturday at 138 Beale Street, Blues City Cafe.

The fire was brought under control and no injures were reported.

The total damages are estimated at $35,000 in damages to the structure and $25,000 in damages done in content.

The city of Memphis and other parts of the Mid-South is under a heat advisory until 7 p.m. tonight.
