MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A former employee of the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Memphis has been sentenced to federal prison for assaulting two VA police officers.
Tiffany Lewis, 39, was sentenced to 10 months in prison, according to a release from the Dept. of Justice.
On Nov. 20, 2020, VA police responded to a disturbance on the property.
Officers saw Lewis hitting another person, the release said.
Officers attempted to detain Lewis, but she resisted and hit the arrested officer.
After being escorted to a police holding room at the hospital, Lewis punched another officer in the face, the release said.
On Aug. 2, 2021, Lewis pled guilty to two counts of assaulting federal officers.
Lewis’ sentence will be followed by one year of supervised release.
