A job fair is taking place in Frayser next week.

There are several reasons why companies are struggling to fill positions across the Mid-South. Transportation is a big factor.

At Pursuit of God Church, Pastor Ricky Floyd is combatting that problem in his community.

He’s teaming up with companies like Empowerment and FedEx. They not only provide jobs; they also help people struggling to find transportation get back to work.

“Federal Express actually has a van that comes out here, a bus that comes out here three times a day, I think seven days a week, that it will provide transportation to people to Federal Express and back, and I think they’re starting at about $18 to $22 an hour, as well, college tuition.”

The job fair is May 19 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. with almost 10 felon-friendly companies.
