Fugitive arrested in bribery scheme using MPD records

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Officials with the U.S. Department of Justice announced the arrest of a man following a bribery scheme using Memphis Police Department records.

Roderick Harvey was arrested for Bribery of a Public Servant and Violation of a Computer Act of $10,000, officials said.

On Aug. 6, a Shelby County grand jury indicted nine people in an elaborate scheme to profit from using confidential information in MPD records.

Harvey was among those indicted.

After receiving information that Harvey had fled Tennessee, the TBI requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force.

An investigation revealed Harvey was in Phoenix, AZ, officials said.

Harvey was taken into custody without incident on Aug. 24 and booked into the Maricopa County Jail.
