Germantown Holiday Parade cancelled due to COVID-19

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. — The city of Germantown has officially cancelled the annual Holiday Parade due to the rising cases of the coronavirus.

But this will not damper the city’s holiday spirit as some events will be held virtually.

  • Virtual Holiday Tree Lighting: Nov. 27 at 5 p.m. and the tree lighting 5:30 p.m.
  • Holiday Lighting Contest: deadline for entries is Dec. 7, judging is Dec. 8 and winners will be announced Dec. 9.

All entries have to be submitted to Teresa Martin at TMartin@Germantown-TN.gov by Dec. 7.

The voting will take place in the categories which include:

  • traditional
  • traditional doorway
  • children’s Christmas
  • religious
  • lights galore
  • business
  • subdivision entrance
  • zero lot
  • best of show
