MILLINGTON, Tenn. — A Memphis couple is devastated after the death of their daughter, Haley Reedy, 15.
“He said well what’s your address I gave him my address and he said we’ll come to you,” said Haley’s mother, Brandee Reedy, referring to the call she received from police.
The family said Haley was a student at Millington High School.
A source familiar with the investigation said Haley was found shot in the head at a home in the 5000-block of Clear Creek Drive in Millington.
The family said two young adults, a man and woman, were at the home with Haley when the shooting occurred.
“They shouldn’t have been there, but Haley had gotten where she just wanted to be liked and they just went there to visit with this guy and it turned out like this,” said Margaret Thorpe, Haley’s grandmother.
Millington Police will only confirm a juvenile was found dead, but are not offering many more details.
“Haley wouldn’t have ever played Russian roulette with a gun,” said Thorpe.
The teen’s family believes Haley was murdered.
“… someone said, ‘well he meant to shoot the other girl who was sitting beside Haley,’” said Thorpe.
Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call the Millington Police Department at (901)872-3333.
