HORN LAKE, Miss. — A Horn Lake police officer is on paid administrative leave following a shooting Tuesday morning.
According to District Attorney John Champion, officers were called to a domestic dispute in the 3000 block of Country Side Circle.
That’s in the Countryside Apartments off Goodman Road.
The suspect was inside a car. When officers arrived, he got out of the car and took off running.
The district attorney said the suspect fired 1 or 2 shots at officers. An officer fired back 4 times. The suspect was grazed by a bullet in his side area.
The suspect was taken to a nearby hospital in non-critical condition.
He has not been identified and no charges have been filed as of yet.
The officer involved is on paid administrative leave as the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling the case.
