Investigation underway after 7 people injured in a shooting, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are investigating a shooting that occurred overnight which led to seven people going to the hospital.

Officers responded just after 1:30 a.m. to an aggravated assault call in the 500 block of Josephine St., police said.

Upon arrival, officers located four people with various injuries.

The victims were taken to Regional One in non-critical condition, according to police.

Officers were told that the four people were headed to a party when an unknown person came out of some bushes and began shooting at the car the victims were in.

While on the scene, police were told three additional victims arrived at Regional One by a private car and are in non-critical condition, police said.

This is an ongoing investigation.
