Investigation underway after fire breaks out at a Hickory Hill apartment complex

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An apartment fire is under investigation after the Memphis Fire Department (MFD) says it was intentionally set.

MFD responded to an apartment fire in the 6300 block of Arbor Creek Trail just before 9 p.m. Wednesday.

When firefighters arrived, a three-story apartment with heavy smoke was showing, a release said.

There were no firefighters or civilian injuries.

According to officials, estimated damage to the structure and contents is about $300,000.

The origin and cause of the fire is the front bedroom and investigators believe it to be arson.

Red Cross is assisting 24 tenants.
