Below are the latest updates for Sunday, April 12
UPDATE: (7:40 p.m.) Six FedEx trucks loaded with masks, gloves, and gowns arrived in Arkansas.
Governor Asa Hutchinson shared the news on his Facebook page. “I’m grateful for the tireless work of Arkansas National Guard during this public health crisis and for the work of Arkansas Division of Emergency Management & UAMS - University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in procuring this critical PPE,” he said.
UPDATE: (6:10 p.m.) The Tennessee Department of Correction released the results from COVID-19 testing for state employees and contract workers at two state facilities, one in Tiptonville and one in Pikeville. The testing was conducted on Friday, April 10.
13 TDOC staff and 6 contract employees tested positive for the virus. A total of 1,145 employees were tested.
UPDATE: (2:00 p.m.) The Tennessee Department of Health said there are now 5,308 cases of COVID-19 in the state with 101 deaths and 1,504 people recovered.
UPDATE: (10:25 a.m.) The Shelby County Health Department says there are 1,216 cases of the coronavirus in the county with 26 deaths.
UPDATE: (10:00 a.m.) The Mississippi Department of Health updated its confirmed cases of the coronavirus to 2,781 and 96 deaths.
UPDATE: (9:10 a.m.) The Arkansas Department of Health announced there are 1,277 cases of COVID-19 with 367 recoveries and 27 deaths.
UPDATE: (6:10 a.m.) Last week, the U.S. had increases in the coronavirus pandemic. We have the numbers as of this morning at Easter Sunday.
The world has over 1.7 million confirmed cases of the virus with over 109,000 deaths.
The U.S. has over 530,000 cases of the virus with over 20,600 deaths and over 2.6 million tested.
Arkansas has over 1,200 cases and 25 deaths with 346 recovered.
Mississippi has over 2,600 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and 93 deaths.
Tennessee broke 5,000 cases on Saturday with 5,114 cases in the state and 101 deaths.
