As Day 11 of protests began in Memphis, the Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers made sure the protests didn’t head to the I-40 bridge into downtown Memphis.
This is a common location for protests.
The march has started on Second St. Protest with organizer and leader, Devante Hill, who told the crowd, "We’re able to show them, that there is much more strength in unity.
The group then stopped in front of the Martin Luther King Reflection Park.
Over the course of the many protests in downtown Memphis, songs and chants were made to engage the audience and bypassers, with “We ready, we ready, we ready, for change” being a common one.
The group then continued down Beale St. towards the river.
Organizers took the time to remember those who passed with a candlelight vigil.
Protestors wrapped up to finish where the march started, at the I AM A MAN PLAZA.
