MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Dinstuhl’s Fine Candy Company, Inc. was buzzing on Valentines Day as dozens of people looked for the perfect sweet treat for that special someone.

“We love to make family traditions here at Dinstuhls, I’ll hear from people 90 years old talking about when they were young and they used to get candies way back when. Then. I’ll hear from the young folks,” Andrew Dinstuhl told FOX13.

Dinstuhl’s was founded in the heart of downtown Memphis in 1902 by Charles Martin Dinstuhl Senior.

“I know when I come in this building every day. Make all this candy made by generations of my family. I make all them happy," Dinstuhl said.

More than 100 years later and Dinstuhl’s is still doing things the old fashioned way.

Each item is handmade, then passed over to be packaged and weighed.

Andrew’s mother said sticking to the basics is key and she can’t wait for her granddaughters to keep the legacy alive.
