MEMPHIS, TENN. — A local doctor told FOX13 now is the time to start thinking about getting those flu shots.
Last year, doctors saw record low numbers for flu cases.
Medical experts say that could change with COVID restrictions being much different compared to 2020.
A doctor with Baptist Hospital told FOX13 a common question he gets asked right now is can you take the flu shot and booster shot at the same time.
He said it’s safe but there are some things you need to consider.
“The timing may not be right for a lot of people,” Dr. Mark Castellaw with Baptist Hospital said. “They may need their flu shot but not be eligible yet for their booster and that’s ok. Go ahead and get your flu shot when you can get it and go ahead and get your flu shot when your doctor recommends that.”
The CDC recommends everyone over six months old get the flu shot annually.
