Local faith leaders discussing ways to make a difference after 19 children murdered

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — So far, 19 children have been murdered in Memphis in 2021.

That’s the latest number from Memphis Police as violent crimes continue to take lives across the city.

On Tuesday, a group of faith leaders discussed what steps they are taking to make a difference.

The group said, “We’re in a war, but we believe we can win.”

About 13 pastors and community leaders came to the Southland Mall to speak out about the 19 children killed.

The way they’re fighting crime is through mentorship programs and community centers.

Pastors throughout the community are also working closely with the ACES program in Frayser which is a program that helps families cope with Trauma.
