Local family pleads for help after woman brutally beaten to death

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Friends and family of a Memphis mother are pleading for answers after she was brutally beaten to death at the Pendleton Place Apartments.

Monday, Memphis police received a call of a woman found dead in her apartment. She’s now identified as 20-year-old Lamonica Myers.

“The last time everybody heard from her was last Wednesday. No one heard from her since then. The babysitter went to her house to bring her children home and came into that,” said longtime friend Bre’anna Allen.

The family said her babysitter brought her children to her apartment Monday, and immediately called the police.

“I feel like the person who did this had no remorse,” said Allen.

Myers leaves behind two sons, a 3-year-old and a 4-year-old. Her family said the killer is still on the streets. They hope someone comes forward to help provide justice for Myers’s two sons.

“You don’t have to leave your name or nothing. We just need answers. We’re going to get answers. We’re going to get justice for those boys,” said Allen.

There’s a candlelight vigil set for her remembrance Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Pendleton Place Apartments.
