MARKED TREE, Ark. — Marked Tree School District in Arkansas will be closed Friday and Monday due to a high percentage of cases of the flu at the high school.
Over 30 percent of the students and over 40 percent of the staff have been diagnosed with the flu or just absent.
The school district said more teachers are going to the doctor to be tested.
The elementary school does not have as many students out, but they doubled in the number of students absent in two days.
The schools ask parents to help with the spread by washing school items that include backpacks and lunch boxes.
This is the second time this school year the district has closed for the flu.
