Local woman’s home riddled with bullets four times in the last three months

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Imagine bullets have been fired into your home four times in the last three months.

That nightmare is a reality for a Memphis mother who said she and her family have become human targets.

She is begging the police to get these gunmen off the street before it’s too late.

Calandra Funches described the sound of bullets and the smell of gun powder waking her family in the middle of the night.

”We were screaming. We were hollering. My son was in the front bedroom, and I was trying to get to him,” she said.

Funches said she and her family are under attack. Her home has been shot up four times since June.

Ring camera video shows a black car drive past the house, firing shots at it.

She believes someone is trying to frighten her oldest daughter, who doesn’t even live in the home.

”They sent my daughter’s associates a message: Ask Precious, which is my daughter’s real name, how the shots sound flying through her home,” said Funches.

Funches said her house was shot up for the fourth time last week.

She said the shooter parked in front of her house in a red car around 11 p.m. and began shooting through her front window using a high-powered rifle. The bullets traveled through the living room.

”It’s like we’re fighting a ghost. Until they bring themselves out, which they did,” said Funches.

Funches said her daughter received this threatening Facebook message from an individual: We gone spin Hillmont till yo momma die.

”I hope you guys can help me bring justice to my family before we end up dead,” said Funches.

FOX13 reached out to Memphis police. They said this is an ongoing investigation, and they are working to gather evidence to get an arrest warrant for the people involved.

If you recognize the cars in the video or know anything about these shootings, call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.
