MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was arrested for running a chop shop in Frayser.

On Dec. 22, 2021, the Memphis Police Department (MPD) received a call that a 2010 Infiniti was stolen.

The caller told MPD that she saw her vehicle on Dec. 21, and then when she later went outside, it was gone.

The value of the Infiniti is $10,225, court documents showed.

Later on Jun. 8, MPD saw a vacant parking lot in the 1100 block of Whitney Avenue.

Officers saw multiple vehicles and parts scattered around the lot in various stages of disrepair, according to an affidavit.

While searching, MPD found the engine from the stolen Infiniti.

A man, later identified as Eric Aldridge, approached the police officers and told them he was the lessee of the lot and owns the property left on the lot.

Eric Aldridge has been charged with theft of property $10,000 - $60,000 and prohibited operation or ownership of a chop shop.

Aldridge has a court date on Jun. 16.
