Man arrested for violent kidnapping and rape, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was arrested after police said he forced a woman into his car, took her to a house, and raped her several times.

According to arrest records, a woman was walking on Looney near Dunlap Street when a man drove up next to her and asked her for a date for $25.

She told him she doesn’t do that and then he got out, grabbed her by the shirt, and put her in the car, court records said.

When they got to the home, he made her take off her clothes and forced her to have sex with him. The details of the rape are too graphic to share.

But, arrest records said she was raped three different times.

After the brutal attacks, he told her she had to be with him willingly or he would tie her up with zip ties and handcuffs in the basement, police said.

She agreed and when he dropped her off at her work, she immediately told her boss and went for medical help.

Video cameras caught the man driving away and were able to identify him as Tommy Brown through the tag number. The victim also pointed Brown out of a photo line up.

Brown is charged with Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Rape.
