Man charged in armed robbery at local gas station

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police arrested a man after a robbery at a local gas station this summer.

On June 22, police responded to a robbery at a Valero gas station in the 3200 block of N. Watkins.

According to an affidavit, a man said he was coming out of the store when he was approached by someone armed with a gun with an extended magazine.

The man said the person pointed the gun at him, demanded his phone and car keys, and threatened to kill him.

The suspect then got into the man’s car, a 2014 Mustang, records show.

Police recovered video surveillance from the store.

During an investigation, Jarquaireous Knox, 18, developed as a suspect, according to the affidavit.

On June 23, the victim positively identified Knox during a photo lineup.

Knox is charged with Aggravated Assault.

According to the affidavit, Knox was out on an $80,000 bond for carjacking, evading arrest and weapons charges.
