MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A 19-year-old is behind bars after two people were critically wounded in a shooting at a Memphis Applebee’s restaurant.
Gunfire erupted Wednesday afternoon at an Applebee’s at 3895 Hacks Cross Rd., SCSO said.

Two people were rushed to Regional One.
A third person was also injured but refused treatment at the scene, SCSO said.
SCSO said a man inside Applebee’s saw someone trying to break into his vehicle, so he went outside to confront them.
The suspect’s car was stolen in Memphis just before the shooting took place.

Detectives were later notified that the suspect, identified as Charterio Porter, had been taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Porter is charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Theft of Property, Employment of a Firearm, Aggravated Assault and Reckless Endangerment, SCSO said.
