Suspect arrested after man shot and killed at Millington restaurant

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was shot and killed at a Mexican restaurant in Millington.

Millington Police responded to a shooting about 9 p.m. Friday at the Margaritas restaurant at 8507 TN-3 #112.

According to a release, the shooting involved an irate customer that had been removed from the restaurant earlier.

Before the incident, the victim intervened in a situation involving the shooter and assisted management in removing him from the restaurant, a release said.

The suspected shooter returned about 20 minutes later after and began shooting at the victim, identified as 55-year-old Timothy Carver.

Carver was a lifelong resident of the Millington area, police said. He died at the scene.

Around 11 a.m. Saturday, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office assisted Millington police with arresting the suspect, Juston McKnight, 30, in Memphis.

This is Millington’s first homicide this year and the second in the past three years, police said.
