Man killed by deputy is suspect in his girlfriend’s death, police said

TATE COUNTY, Miss. — A man that was shot and killed by a deputy last week is now the suspect of his girlfriend’s death, according to officials.

Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance said Keith Cole’s girlfriend, Danielle Cooke, was found murdered after reportedly not being seen for days.

Officials said Cole died during an officer-involved shooting after he was pulled over Thursday and ran into a wooded area.

His girlfriend Danielle Cooke had a restraining order against Cole and had filed charges alleging domestic assault, according to officials.

Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance told FOX13 that Keith Bernard Cole is now the prime suspect in Danielle Cooke’s Death. He says it appears that she had been dead for several days by the time deputies got the call.

“It’s known that she was in a relationship with him and she was the affiant on the warrant. Certainly, we don’t rule out any possibilities,” said Lance.
