Man pretends to be customer, robs beauty supply store at gunpoint, Memphis police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police are investigating a robbery at a local beauty supply store.

On June 15, officers responded to a robbery at the Beauty Supply Store at 2887 Covington Pike.

Officers were told around 2:30 p.m., a man entered the store and robbed the business at gunpoint, police said.

The man first posed as a customer and left before returning.

Police said he had what was described as a black and green semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from the register.

He was able to get money from the register before fleeing in a newer model four-door sedan. No tag information is available.

Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the man.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
