Man shot to death at Motel 6 in Memphis, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is dead after gunfire rang out at a motel in Northeast Memphis on Monday night, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Memphis Police said they responded to a shooting at a Motel 6 on Sycamore View Rd. around 7 p.m. on Monday, August 8.

When police arrived, they said a man was already dead from multiple gunshot wounds.

Three men pulled up in a red car, got out and “opened fire” on the man at the Motel 6, police said.

Surveillance video of those men shows the group wearing masks and holding assault rifles.

The three men then hopped back into that red car with tinted windows and sped off, according to Memphis Police.
