Man wanted for armed robbery at Mapco, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn, — A suspect in an armed robbery is being wanted by the police.

The man entered the Mapco Store in the 450 block of E.H. Crump about 5:30 a.m. on Dec. 11.

He went to the walk-up window to make a purchase, police said.

Shortly later, the man reappeared, armed with a gun, and fired a shot through the front glass door.

Inside, he approached the store clerk with a gun drawn, demanding money from the register.

The suspect took the money and fled on foot, police said.

The man is also suspected of committing a robbery at the Marathon gas station in the 1700 block of Winchester Avenue, police said.

The following is a description of the suspect:

Male, early to mid-twenties, thin frame, short hair, light complexion, 5′10 to 6′, wearing a black and grey hoodie, black jeans with white markings on the left leg, black shoes, and armed with a semi-automatic weapon.

MPD requires your assistance in identifying the suspect.

There has been no arrest.
