MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman turned to FOX13 after she says an apartment complex has not made an apartment available after she paid her deposit.

She said she has been waiting for a unit since October.

Roslin Harden told FOX13 she needs a place for her and her daughter to stay.

Her belongings are in boxes and bags waiting to be unpacked.

Harden expected to move into a two bedroom apartment at the Thirty 94 Apartments.

She told FOX13 that managers promised her an apartment by November. She said the move in date was delayed for months.

Frustrated, Harden asked for her $699 deposit back. She said management told her they want documentation she paid a deposit.

Harden showed FOX13 a stub of a money order used to pay the deposit. It said $699 on the top and the words deposit written on the back.

She offered to give them a copy of it, she said the apartment managers told her they want the original.

FOX13 went to the rental office, but no one answered. FOX13′s Greg Coy called them twice Tuesday. The first time a manager refused to comment and hung up before he could ask a question.

The second time a woman answered and said she was the manager and told Greg she would have to check with the corporate office to answer his questions about Ms. Hardin’s deposit and apartment not being ready for months.

As of Tuesday evening, FOX13 has not heard back from them.

Roslin Harden said she has complained to Memphis Housing Authority because she applied to the complex under section 8.
