Mid-South Food Bank offering vaccinations at two mobile food pantries

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — You couldn’t get a better duo! Vaccinations and mobile food pantries in one swoop.

The Mid-South Food Bank will partner with the Memphis Housing Authority, Girl Scouts of America, and First Pharmacy to provide COVID-19 vaccinations during two Mobile Pantry distributions, a release said.

The distributions will take place at the following times and locations:

  • Hosted by Memphis Housing Authority and First Pharmacy on April 29 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Pennsylvania Avenue
  • Hosted by Girl Scouts of America and First Pharmacy on May 1 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Carnes Ave., Memphis, TN 38114

First Pharmacy will administer COVID-19 vaccinations to anyone who needs a first or second dose, the release said, and ask for recipients to bring proof of insurance; however, it is not mandatory to receive the vaccination.

Members of Girl Scouts of America are volunteering on May 1 to distribute food during the kid-friendly Mobile Pantry, and First Pharmacy will provide COVID-19 vaccinations, the release stated.
