MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman is behind bars after police say she shot and killed her ex-husband’s girlfriend.
Memphis Police responded to a vandalism call about 6:50 a.m. on Feb. 13 in the 2600 block of Nightingale Drive.
The victim, Shelby Campbell, 26, called the police and said Pamela Castle was vandalizing her home.
The call was upgraded to shots fired just after 7 a.m. because Castle began to fire shots, an affidavit said.
When police got there, they found Campbell unresponsive and suffering from gunshots to her chest.
Derek Castle, the victim’s live-in boyfriend, told police that he and Campbell were upstairs when someone started banging on the door to their apartment, the affidavit said.
Derek Castle said Campbell went downstairs to see who was at the door when he heard his wife of 17 years, Pamela Castle, yelling at Campbell, the affidavit said.
According to records, within minutes there were shots were fired.
Derek Castle looked out the window and saw what looked to be his wife driving off in a white Hyundai Accent, the affidavit said.
Investigators looked for Pamela Castle with no luck.
Pamela Castle’s license plate was hit by a reader in Georgia later that same day. She was later arrested by the Cobb County Police Department in Marietta, GA.
