Memphis police said Jones reported his car stolen that was taken at gunpoint Wednesday.

Later that night, officers responded to a shooting at Valero Gas Station where they found two victims dead. Donterrius Johnson and a child.

Memphis police said surveillance video showed a child arriving in the stolen car that belonged to Jones.

Video also showed four suspects who opened fire on the two victims and showed one of the suspects getting shot in the leg.

Police said Jones arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.

Community activist Frank Gottie said one of the victims, who was a well-known rapper in Memphis, appeared to be an innocent bystander.

“I just heard some things went wrong with another young man, and my homeboy, he was an innocent bystander. They said he came out the store and folks put him in some stuff that he really didn’t have anything to do with, like honestly, and he got gunned down.”

Jones is charged with two counts of first-degree murder in those shootings.

Memphis Police said they believe the Valero shooting is connected with the other shooting that happened at the Citgo Gas Station just before midnight Thursday.

“And then, later on, that day, while the police was down here, they came back and shot again like in front of the police,” Gottie said.

The owner of the Citgo showed FOX13 surveillance video of a car pulling in. The woman got out of her car, walked between two gas pumps, sat down and screamed for help. Memphis Police said the woman’s car was hit by gunfire, and she was hit by broken glass.

Community leaders said the recent shootings have to stop.

“We killing each other faster than corona.”
