MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is dead after a car crash Wednesday morning on I-55.

Memphis police responded to a crash at 12:35 a.m. at I-55 and Shelby Drive.

At 12:35 am, officers responded to a crash at I-55 S at Shelby Drive. The prelim investigation revealed veh #1 traveled at a high rate of speed, losing control as it entered I-55 and struck an 18 wheeler.
Driver #1, LaKrystal Christian 31, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said a vehicle that was speeding lost control as it entered the interstate and struck an 18-wheeler.

The driver, identified as LaKrystal Christian, 31, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
