Multiple gunshot wounds leaves one man dead in Whitehaven, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One man is dead after being shot multiple times Friday night in Whitehaven.

Officers responded to the 4800 block of Manson Rd. just before 10:30 p.m. to a shooting.

The victim, Rodricas Clark, was found unresponsive in a yard and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.

He was pronounced dead by paramedics.

According to an affidavit, witnesses said Clark was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect, Douglas Edwards, 57.

Clark reportedly pushed Edwards, and Edwards left.

Edwards returned and shot Clark multiple times in the torso, according to the affidavit.

Edwards was located standing across the street from the shooting scene and was arrested.

According to the affidavit, Edwards admitted to shooting and killing Clark.

He was taken to 201 Poplar.

He has been charged with second-degree murder.
