SAINT FRANCIS COUNTY, Ark. — I-40 in Saint Francis County was closed Saturday morning after multiple tractor-trailers were blown over due to heavy winds.
As many as 10 tractor-trailers overturned because of high winds.
“We knew it was going to storm. We didn’t think it was going to be this bad," said tow truck operator Fisher Roberts.
The Arkansas State Transportation Department said the accidents shut down the interstate for huors.
“This is the first time I have ever seen that . And one of the county deputies, my buddy said this is first time he has ever seen that," said Roberts.
A spokesman with the state police said there were no fatalities but the number of accidents kept tow truck operators busy to get the highway re-opened.
