MEMPHIS, Tenn. — EDITOR’S NOTE: This story has been updated from its original version to reflect the death of the 2-month-old child and the police affidavit.
Three people are now dead after a crash in Frayer Friday night.
According to the Memphis Police Department, 22-year-old Erik White was driving a Nissan Altima down Delano Ave. when the front end of his car hit the right side of a Hyundai Accent at the Overton Crossing intersection.
That crash left 23-year-old Andrew Meacham his 21-year-old girlfriend Jemeela Daniels dead at the scene, according to police and family of the victims.
Police said that two children were rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in life-threatening condition.
The family told FOX13 that one of those children, the couple’s 2-month-old son Jameel, later died as a result.
The other child, a 1-year-old son of the couple, is still recovering from his injuries, according to the family.
According to Memphis Police, White’s driver’s license was suspended from his failure to appear for a trial in 2018 and his car did not have any insurance.
