MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The traditional guitar drop on Beale Street is being replaced.

This year instead of a guitar a “unique lifting of a mirrored ball” will take place, according to a release.

This change aims to celebrate the rise of a new decade, the release continued.

The mirror ball will rise at BB King and Beale downtown.

The celebration will still include music all night long and fireworks.

According to the event’s Facebook page there is no purchase necessary to attend the event, but there are only 100 Fast Passes available for purchase.
