One killed in hit-and-run crash on I-40, MPD says

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One person is dead after a car accident in Memphis, police say.

Around 2 a.m., officers responded to a hit-and-run crash at I-40 and Whitten Road.

Police said a black Dodge Charger hit another vehicle, causing it to run off the road.

The driver of the Dodge fled the scene.

The other driver was pronounced dead.
