MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Imagine not getting a single piece of mail for a month, that means no bills, checks or personal letters.
Some neighbors in the Monterrey Square cul de sac in Orange Mound told FOX13 it is happening to them despite complaining to the U.S. Postal Service.
“Mail. Mail is what is missing in this neighborhood,” said Larry Washington. “Can’t get no mail delivered”
Washington and his daughter showed us empty mailboxes at their home and neighbors.
“Social security mail,” said Bria Washington. “My dad can’t go to the doctor because his Medicare part b is in there. Stimulus checks and light bills.”
FOX13 emailed the U.S. Postal Service to find out if they had been contacted?
If there is a problem then what is the cause and solution?
USPS Corp Communications spokesperson Susan Wright sent this reply.
“The Postal Service appreciates our customers and strives to provide excellent service. We are concerned whenever we do not meet our customers’ expectations. We are currently investigating Ms. Washington’s complaint and will take the steps necessary to resolve service concerns. We apologize for any inconvenience this situation has caused.”
Bria Washington and some of her neighbors told us all they want is something so basic delivered to them.
“I did ask them if I could put a hold on my mail and pick it up because they are not delivering it,” Washington said.
