More than 200 cats and dogs were flown to shelters in Washington and Idaho for a better chance at finding a home.
The pets are taken from overcrowded, high-risk shelters and placed in shelters that have empty kennels. Wings of Rescue is the organization behind saving these pets.
Ric Browde is the President and CEO. He told FOX13 it’s about making sure these pets get the chance to end up in a loving home.
“It’s really frightening to know what’s going on in shelters across the south,” said Browde.
Browde told FOX13 an operation like this helps provide relief to the shelters dealing with overcrowding.
It’s one of the reasons why the organization came to the Mid-South.
