Police identify victim, release suspect photos in Whitehaven homicide

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police identified the victim of a Whitehaven homicide and released photos of the shooting suspect and a woman the victim was possibly involved in an argument with before the shooting happened.

ORIGINAL STORY: Man found shot dead overnight at local business, MPD says

Officers responded to a shooting at the Marathon Gas in the 600 block of East Shelby Drive just after 10 p.m. Friday.

Police said they found Michael Hymon, 34, unresponsive inside the business and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Hymon did not survive his injuries, police said.

The investigation revealed that Hymon was possibly involved in a verbal dispute with a woman inside the business before a man shot him. The two left the scene in a Chevrolet HHR, possibly tan in color, according to MPD.

No arrests have been made.

Police said this is an ongoing investigation.
