Here is where it goes from bad to worse.

The police report states, “At this particular Sunday meeting while everyone was blindfolded an active grabbed a bottle of bleach or surface cleaner and started spraying it on a few pledges, during this time one of the pledges through up from inhaling some of the substance in his mouth and another had to go to the hospital because he got bleach in his eyes. "

Police charged Higgins with Aggravated assault.

A lawyer for the injured pledge said his client has serious injuries to his esophagus and can’t eat regularly and may need surgery.

The family plans to sue the fraternity which has been sanctioned.

The fraternity issued a statement:

We express our full support and sympathies to the victim, who is a current member of the chapter, and his family. Following this incident last fall, the International Fraternity worked closely with the university to hold the former member responsible. This individual was subsequently expelled from the chapter, and additional sanctions were placed on the chapter.
