Police say man who robbed Poplar Plaza Kroger may be responsible for second robbery

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are searching for a man who robbed the Kroger in Poplar Plaza Wednesday night.

MPD responded to the Kroger located at 3444 Plaza near Poplar Ave. and Highland St. at 7:35 p.m.

According to police, a man entered Kroger and robbed the business.

Police said the man first posed as a customer and approached the customer service counter. He then produced a note demanding money from the register.

Police told FOX13 the man implied he had a weapon.

After taking the money, the suspect left the scene.

Surveillance video shows he left with the entire cash drawer from the register.

Police said they believe this same suspect is responsible for a similar robbery at the Kroger located at 2835 Kirby on November 3.

Police are looking for a man in his mid 20′s with a thin build and approximately 5′9 to 6′. He has dreadlock hair.

The man was wearing a black jacket, a white shirt, black pants with a white stripe, white tennis shoes with a black Nike swoosh, glasses, a black hat, and a black mask.

No arrests have been made at this point, and additional information is being requested.
