Police searching for people wanted in internet dating robbery

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police is searching for people wanted for aggravated robbery.

On Dec. 19, officers responded to an aggravated robbery just after 12:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Elmwood Park Street.

When police arrived, the man told officers that he met a woman on an internet dating site and agreed to meet in person, a release said.

According to police, the victim was picked up in a dark-colored Nissan SUV occupied by three women and a man.

The driver of the suspect’s car drove the victim to the area of N. Perkins Road and Charleswood Avenue, where the victim was robbed at gunpoint, police said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
