Rapper Big Unccc facing drug, weapons charges after Memphis car crash

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Rapper Big Unccc is facing drug and weapons charges after Memphis police say he hit two vehicles in a stolen car.

On Oct. 15, Memphis police saw a white Dodge Charger with drive out tags at the scene of an accident at Perkins and American Way.

A car hit two other vehicles after running a red light, according to an affidavit.

The driver of the car, later identified as Daniel J. Banks, the rapper’s real name, ran from the scene, records show.

He was caught in the 4700 block of American Way after being chased by police.

Police found a Glock on the ground and an empty holster in Banks’ waistband, records show.

The Glock had a device attached to make it a fully automatic machine gun, and a Glock magazine was found in the car.

The Charger, valued at nearly $21,000, was shown to be stolen out of Texas.

According to the affidavit, police found over 592 grams of marijuana in the car and a bottle of oxycodone.

Banks also had no driver’s license.

He is charged with multiple crimes including unlawful possession of a weapon, evading arrest, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, theft of property and possession of a controlled substance.

Records show he will appear in court Monday.
