Registration for Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program begins Oct. 17 across the Mid-South

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Registration for the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program begins in October.

Registration will take place for one week beginning Oct. 17.

Participants must register in person, according to a release from the Salvation Army.

The Salvation Army has provided holiday gifts for children and seniors for 35 years.

Families and seniors meeting the below criteria can apply for assistance at 4280 Getwell Rd. in the old Fred’s building at the following dates and times:

Monday, Oct. 17 (9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

Tuesday, Oct. 18 (9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

Wednesday, Oct. 19 (9 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.)

Thursday, Oct. 20 (9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

Friday, Oct. 21 (9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.)

Saturday, Oct. 22 (9 a.m. - 2 p.m.)

Children 12 and under and seniors ages 65 and over can register.

Participants must live in Shelby, Crittenden, Tipton, Fayette, Lauderdale, DeSoto, Tunica or Tate counties, officials said.

Participants must bring:

• Picture ID of parent/guardian

• Proof of current address (ID, utility bill, mortgage or lease, etc.)

• Picture ID of parent/guardian

• ID for all adults living in home

• Proof of parental custody or guardianship

• Proof of household income (check stub, bank statement, unemployment benefits, or disability

income statement)

• Proof of birth or guardianship for kids 12 and under (birth certificate, Insurance/Medicaid care,

school records, or shot records)
