Shelby County, Tenn. — The nationwide eviction moratorium barring many renters around the country from being evicted is set to end tomorrow.

The Biden administration announced Thursday it will allow a nationwide ban on evictions to expire Saturday, arguing that its hands are tied after the Supreme Court signaled the moratorium would only be extended until the end of the month, according to the Associated Press.

But, help is still available for renters and landlords who need assistance.

Up to a full year of rent and utilities can be paid through the COVID-19 Rental and Utilities Assistance Program for eligible households.
